50 international trade fairs are organised by Messe Düsseldorf, among these are 24 No. 1 events. This means that nearly one fifth of all the world‘s premier trade shows take place in Düsseldorf.
Successful for over 60 years
In 1947 the North West German Exhibition Company (Nord West Deutsche Ausstellungsgesellschaft mbH - NOWEA) was founded in Düsseldorf, with initially 4,800 square metres of exhibition space at Ehrenhof. Being the first trade fair after WWII, the German Press Exhibition “Deutsche Presseausstellung“ attracted 207,000 visitors to Düsseldorf. 60 years later Messe Düsseldorf is among the 10 trade fair organisers posting the highest turnover worldwide.
