Boermans Glas in Kuringen, Belgien beschäftigt etwa neunzig Mitarbeiter in einer Region wo die Konkurrenz in Sachen Flachglasbearbeitung lebhaft ist. Das Unternehmen, das es seit mehr als 100 Jahren gibt und das Teil der Saint Gobain Gruppe ist, produziert Einfachglas, Zweifach-Iso und immer mehr Dreifach-Iso. Der Maschinenpark beinhaltet einige LiSEC Anlagen, unter anderem auch eine Bearbeitungsmaschine KSR.
„Wir hatten im Bereich Schleifen einen echten Engpass,“ so Marcel Nouwen, Produktionsleiter bei Glass Solutions Boermans. „Und das Thema Schleifen wurde immer wichtiger, da die Nachfrage nach Scheiben mit Schliff ständig stieg. Die vorige Anlage war recht unzuverlässig.
Wir hatten so oft Stillstände, dass vernünftig planen kaum noch möglich war. Als wir auf der Suche nach einer Ersatzlösung waren, haben wir uns auch die KSR Anlage in einem Schwesterunternehmen angeschaut.“ Das Team in Kuringen verglich dazu noch die Vor- und Nachteile üblicher Anlagen am Markt. Dann war aber die Entscheidung schnell getroffen. Die Zufriedenheit der Kollegen in der Schwesterniederlassung gab den Ausschlag. Nouwen: „Wir wollten eine Lösung die reibungslos funktioniert und absolut zuverlässig ist – und die haben wir jetzt.“ Fragt man den Anlagenbediener, wie zufrieden er mit der KSR ist, erscheint ein Lächeln auf seinem Gesicht und er sagt: „Die geben wir für kein Geld der Welt mehr her!“
