Vidriería Argentina’s (Vasa) float glass plant is expected to begin operations in April next year, reports Brazilian flat glass association, Abravidro.
The Vasa plant, a subsidiary of NSG/ Pilkington, is under construction in the municipality of Exaltación de La Cruz, state of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Work had been halted due to the pandemic.
The company's managing director, Pablo Gaynecotche, said approximately 75% of the work is completed.
The plant will produce colourless, bronze and gray float in thicknesses from 2 to 19 mm, in addition to extra clear (with low iron content).
There are also plans that, in the future, coated glasses, such as solar control, will be also manufactured there.
