Ultra-thin laminates made of vacuum and interactive glass

LamiPress machines can also be used to produce laminates that were previously technically unfeasible, as Fotoverbundglas Marl GmbH will be demonstrating at glasstec from 22-25 October: At its stand (Hall 12, A56) and the special show "glass technology live", the company will be presenting a glass façade into which millimetre-thin, high-resolution "VideowindoW" modules have been laminated. The patented technology from the Netherlands was developed to transform glass façades into transparent screens that improve the user experience in the building and at the same time enable dynamic glare protection and climate control. LamiPress machines have made it possible for the first time to laminate the modules with thin float glass and even vacuum glass, enabling future integration into ultra-modern façades.

"VideowindoW" is an extremely thin display technology that will transform glass façades into dynamic, immersive screens and even enable interactivity. Although the glass façade remains transparent, the images or video sequences displayed create pleasant glare protection, especially in dark scenes. The modules have not yet been tested for their g-value (solar control) or Ug-value (thermal insulation), but initial spectral analyses suggest promising properties. Using LamiPress technology, it has now even been possible to laminate the modules with vacuum insulating glass (VIG) - offering great potential for energy-optimised and multimedia façades.
