Introducing AGC’s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Generator – externally verified and seamlessly integrated into the Glass Configurator

Leading glassmaker AGC Glass Europe recently launched its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Generator, a powerful tool designed to facilitate sustainable decision-making in the construction industry.

This unique tool has been externally verified to ensure that the EPDs it generates are fully compliant with standards EN ISO 14025:2010, NF EN 15804+A2:2019 and its national addition NF EN 15804+A2/CN:2022, guaranteeing the quality and reliability of the underlying environmental assessments. It has also been expanded to include AGC’s range of Low-Carbon products. The tool covers both the Standard and Low-Carbon versions of seven product families, in other words a total of 14 product families for which a reference EPD has been published in INIES, the French national reference database for environmental and health data on construction products and equipment.

With this innovative tool, AGC is now capable of automatically generating verified EPDs for a large proportion of its product portfolio.

Comprehensive overview of environmental performance
While the Glass Configurator makes it faster and easier for architects and engineers to devise and select the optimal glazing configuration for any project, the integrated EPD Generator goes one step further by generating a specific EPD for their chosen configuration. It not only calculates numerous potential environmental impacts, but also provides a comprehensive and detailed environmental assessment of a product's entire life cycle. The EPD includes more than 30 different environmental and resource indicators, delivering valuable insights to help ensure adherence with the latest industry standards and regulations.

Single integrated tool
AGC’s EPD Generator is a valuable addition to the suite of tools available in the Glass Configurator, which also includes the Glass Visualiser, Product Finder, Glass Thickness Calculator and Acoustics Tool. Together, they empower customers and architects to make informed decisions that align with sustainability goals, support design excellence and pave the way for the digital product passport requirements under the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR.)
