Equity Participation
In projects of a significant size and strategic importance and where the criteria outlined in BDC´s project format are fulfilled, consideration will be given to BDC taking a shareholding in the business.
Loan Financing
BDC can provide loan finance that meets the full requirements of a business. The loans are available at competitive interest rates and are repayable over a period of up to 10 years, although in exceptional circumstances a longer repayment period may be considered.
Provision of Commercial, Industrial and Residental Premises
BDC offers a wide range of business premises at competitive rentals. These facilities include the following:
- Factory Units: These are currently located in Gaborone, Lobatse, Francistown, Selebi-Phikwe and Ramotswa. The sizes of units range from 200 to 4000 sq. m. Under certain circumstances, BDC may build a factory to the specific requirements of an investor. Rentals for such a facility would be slightly higher than that of a standard factory.
- Commercial Premises: The Corporation offers accommodation for commercial enterprises. Some of these retail complexes also include office space for rental.
- Residential Premises: BDC provides limited residential accommodation at competitive rentals.
