In the summer of 2022, the Vetropack Group set up a foundation specifically to support employees at the Ukrainian site in Gostomel. To date, over CHF 960,000 has been donated by employees, business partners and customers, the Vetropack Group, and Cornaz Holding. The first funds have now been paid out to Ukrainian colleagues particularly affected by the war.
The Vetropack Gostomel Foundation has set itself the goal of providing direct support to Ukrainian employees whose houses or apartments were destroyed or who were seriously injured in the war. Support also goes to families of those employees who lost their lives due to the war. Employees from other locations, business partners and customers donated money to this cause, with donations from Vetropack employees being doubled by the Vetropack Group until the end of September. "The fact that such a large sum was raised in just a few months is an impressive sign of solidarity with our colleagues in Ukraine, and one that we can all be very proud of," explains Johann Reiter, CEO of the Vetropack Group.
To date, more than CHF 960,000 has already been donated. Several colleagues injured by the war have now been paid their first aid benefits. More than 30 applications due to completely or partially destroyed houses and almost ten applications from war wounded are currently being reviewed by an internal Advisory Board and the local team.
