Products or Machinery
HyGear is a clean tech company, specialized in the downscaling of chemical processes. These miniaturized gas processing systems can be installed at the end users’ sites, with which extensive inefficient supply chains become obsolete and local gaseous waste streams can be turned into valuable products.
Hygear’s lead product is a family of on-site hydrogen generators based on steam reforming, which can be installed at the (industrial) end users’ sites. Production on-site overcomes the necessity to supply hydrogen by tube trailers, significantly reducing CO2-emissions and costs. Furthermore, hydrogen storage on-site is no longer necessary.
Besides these products HyGear is developing other dedicated gas processing technologies that optimize supply chains or utilize waste streams more effectively. Focus areas are upgrading of biogas (GUS), utilization of stranded gas (GtL) and distributed generation of electricity with Fuel Cells.
HyGear is established in 2002. The company is located in Arnhem, The Netherlands. The major shareholders are PPM Oost NV, a Dutch investment company and Abengoa Hidrogeno S.A., a Spanish sustainable engineering company, publicly traded at Bosla de Madrid.
